If you don’t have much of
a budget but need a new mattress, you may be considering buying
a used one. But what kinds of things should you know about
your mattress? Is buying used even safe or is it better to
bite the bullet and spend the money on a new mattress. There
are a few things to think about before making the decision
to buy new or used.
Of course, buying a new mattress is always the first choice.
Who doesn’t want the feeling of a brand new, never-been-used
mattress on its first night? But sometimes it just isn’t
possible budget wise to get one. Much like buying a used car,
there are things that can go wrong with buying a used mattress.
They can include anything from bugs down to broken springs
and unknown stains. You never know what kind of creatures
are hiding in a mattress and when you get a used one, you
know that whatever they are, they aren’t yours. Bed
bugs, ticks and fleas are all found in mattresses all the
time and if you buy used, you won’t know if you are
bringing them into your house or not.
If you don’t check the bed over well when you first
buy it, you may find that there are some broken springs in
it which will make it very uncomfortable. You may also find
some stains that you don’t know what they are or who
made them. Buying a second hand mattress can be a little scary
so if you do choose this route, make sure that you get it
from someone you trust and check it over thoroughly.
