Shopping for a mattress can be
quite daunting. The pushy sales people, the hundreds of mattresses
to try out, all the paper work and questions. How do you choose
the right mattress for you and not have to go through that
ordeal again for a very long time?
The answer is simple. Research. Consider what type of mattress
you have now. What do you like about it? What don’t
you like about it? If you could, what would you change about
it? Then you need to figure out what kind of mattress will
give you what you want out of a mattress.
While a firm one will always be better for your back and
neck health, nothing beats a soft mattress in comfort. Soft
mattresses conform to your body more than a firm mattress
would which allows for your weight to be spread out evenly
and not cause any pinched nerves or tossing and turning to
get comfortable.
Soft mattresses create the kind of bed where you are so comfortable
that you won’t want to get out of bed in the morning.
If you spend a lot of time in your bed, this may be the way
to go because you will definitely be more comfortable. If
you have back pain, however, you may want to consider a firmer
mattress with a good mattress pad on top for added comfort.
