Student transforms dorm room into 'designer haven'
The usual standard-issue bed is not good enough for one Harvard student in America who has transformed his dorm room into a luxuriously decorated haven for the year.
Roger C. Batt has used designer fabrics, glazed wooden tables and a bed frame he made himself to create a room that is very different to that occupied by most students, the Harvard Crimson reports.
He has chosen to stick to a black and white colour scheme with a vinyl floor covering and black shelves that he constructed from an old TV console.
Mr Batt has put his old bed frame into storage and has also replaced his standard wooden desk with a modern, steely work table.
"Most people think it's just a dorm, but it doesn't have to be. If you want to do something nice, go for it. It's important to keep an open mind," he said.
Dorm rooms are not the only places that can be transformed with a new bed as Statesville.com advises people to consider the decor in their guest bedroom to make sure it is an inviting place to stay.
