Guggenheim invites visitors to spend a night at the museum

The Guggenheim Museum in New York is offering two visitors the chance to bring their pyjamas and spend the night in bed in it's Revolving Hotel Room, a new installation on display.

After the museum closes its doors the paying guests can stay in the work of art as it operates as a fully functioning hotel room, the Times reports.

The piece was designed by Carsten Holler, a former scientist who also created a giant slide installation for London's Tate Modern gallery.

According to the newspaper, the furniture is "stark and simple, with soft white wood and leather dressing, storage and working areas".

To give it a real hotel room feel, there are also "fluffy towels, luscious bathrobes, slippers and upmarket toiletries by Malin and Goetz and Guerlain".

Beds are currently on display in the Tate modern as part of an installation of two hundred blue and yellow bunk bed frames created by French artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.
