Expert: Using a "bookend" can help people sleep


Those who find they have trouble dozing off when they get into bed at night have been advised of one way which may help them get to sleep with ease.

Speaking to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Dr James Rouse, a naturopathic physician and wellness guru, claimed that a "bookend" needs to be inserted between daily activities and sleep.

According to Mr Rouse, a bookend is a 20 minute break taken between an activity and going to bed.

This will help the brain shut down and prepare for rest as something such as using a computer can affect the melatonin in the brain and cause sleep deprivation.
