Sleepwalker gets the urge to email
It seems that the urge to email is the new problem being experienced by sleepwalkers who get out of bed to wander around every night.
An article published in the journal Sleep Medicine documents the case of a 44-year-old woman who battled with insomnia for years before being prescribed Zolpidem to help her sleep.
After her dosage was increased she began sleepwalking and sent an email to a friend inviting her to a dinner party.
The woman had no recollection of sending the message, which she typed out at 11:47pm one night.
She also sent two further emails to the friend at 11:50pm and 11:53pm which were full of errors and phrases which did not make sense.
Dr Fouzia Siddiqui, lead author of the case report and a neurologist at the University of Toronto said this case is unique because the woman "wasn't just sleepwalking but doing things like turning on her computer, remembering her user name and password and typing entire e-mails".
Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher recently revealed that he has started sleepwalking, Digital Spy has reported.
