Exercise 'equals better sleep'
Those who have trouble sleeping have been advised that one of the best ways to get a better night's rest in bed may be to do regular exercise during the day.
According to the Calgary Herald, doing at least 30 to 40 minutes of cardiovascular activity a day is the best way see sleep quality improve.
A study by Stanford University Medical School also found that after 16 weeks of doing four cardio sessions a week, participants were able to fall asleep 15 minutes earlier.
They also slept for an average of 45 minutes longer at night.
It has been suggested that the duration is more important than the intensity of the activity meaning that those who may be physically unable to do demanding exercise could still feel the benefits.
Another way in which people who have difficulty dropping off at night may be more comfortable in bed is to use a Tempur mattress.
