Women sentenced for stealing bed sheets

It seems as though one woman in America may have risked a little too much in her quest to get some nice linen for her bed.

Loretta Carey, 27, has been sentenced to 45 days in jail after stealing bed sheets from a Wal-Mart shop in the US, the Sault Star reports.

She also has a one-year probation period and has been ordered to stay away from the store during this time.

Ms Carey also attempted a similar theft from another retailer called Pino's.

Defence counsel Murdoch Carter said: "This is her first time in jail and she wants it to be her last time."

The newspaper also reported that Ms Carey has severe substance abuse problems.

One person who will not have to resort to stealing furniture for her bedroom is High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens, who was recently seen trying out mattresses at a store in California.
