Tempur beds are 'top choice for New Yorkers'

Tempur mattresses and beds have been praised in one magazine, being named as "one of the firmest beds you can buy".

New York Magazine describes how the memory foam product is a favourite of those living in the Big Apple.

It claims that one of a Tempurbed's biggest appeals is that one person can get off the mattress without their partner being disturbed by the weight shift – something called 'motion separation' in the mattress industry.

Another benefit, the magazine states, it that memory foam mattresses are hypo-allergenic because dust mites cannot live inside them – something which may be good news to those who have trouble with allergies when asleep in bed.

The material used to make a Tempurbed or mattress was originally developed by Nasa for the US space programme and it moulds to the exact contours of the sleeper's body.
