The world's largest mattress manufacturer Sealy has developed a new line of innerspring beds with the aim of making sure people stay still when they sleep, it has been reported.
Saying that tossing and turning has been proven to damage sleep quality, Mark Delahanty, vice president of Sealy marketing, explained to Furniture World Magazine that his company had made the prevention of movement its main aim in the development of its new beds.
"Excessive pressure from a sleep surface restricts blood flow and creates uncomfortable pressure points that automatically trigger the body to move and restore circulation. These movements disrupt sleep," he stated.
The beds contain innersprings, as well as inlays containing latex and memory foam.
Set to launch in the US in spring, Sealy's mattresses will range from $599 (£306) to $1,000.
Previous lines from the bedmaker are available from the Classic Bed Company from as little as £220.
Classic Bed Company is the UK's premier bed store for ultimate comfort and luxury offering Tempur, Vi Spring, Willis Gambier and French Sleigh beds.
Sleep in comfort with a Sealy or Vi-Spring bed.
