Following a report that one in ten mums want breakfast in bed this Mother's Day, another survey has revealed the figure rises to one in four in Hastings.
Over a quarter of the 1,000 mums polled by the Sussex Express said their ideal day would be spent in a very traditional British style - eating toast and marmalade in bed.
Breakfast in bed resoundingly beat off all other competition including being showered with expensive gifts or a fancy meal at a top restaurant.
The newspaper attributes this victory to another surprising figure revealed by the survey - that 65 per cent of mums haven't enjoyed a leisurely meal at home in the past year, with career, family and chores the given reasons.
