One man will stop at nothing in his quest to get back into bed - suggesting bed stores offer sleepovers to customers unsure of which one to choose.
In an article for Reflector.com, Mark Rutledge explains how lower back pain - which he believes is caused by his old mattress - has left him unable to share a bed with his wife of ten years.
Expressing bewilderment at the huge choice available on the market, he writes: "Why don't mattress stores invite potential customers in for sleepovers - is there a better way to test out a mattress than to sleep on it?"
He could have a point - the Sleep Council advises potential buyers to "try before you buy", while its research shows over one third of people wait until their bed causes pain before investing in a new model, while half wait until it actually breaks.
