A leading journalist has found herself converted to the Tempur cause during the writing of a feature on modern mattresses.
New York Times writer Perdita Buchan confesses to having slept on her fair share of lumpy mattresses in her time and to never having previously considered luxury brands as an option.
However, during the course of her investigation into luxury brand mattresses such as Tempur-Pedic's memory foam variety, she admits: "Once I might have scoffed at such niceties [..] but I think I might have succumbed."
After being introduced to the Tempur brand, with its body-moulding qualities and ability to be customised each side for bed-sharers, she later adds that she feels enlightened.
Ms Buchan attributes her previous skepticism to wanting to maintain the belief that "as in my youth, I can sleep anywhere - even as my aging body whispers to me of feather beds and memory foam."
Tempur is a temperature and pressure sensitive material that conforms to individual body shapes and was first developed by NASA for use by astronauts during high G-force take-offs.
Classic Bed Company is the UK's premier bed store for ultimate comfort and luxury offering Tempur, Vi Spring, Willis and Gambier, and French Sleigh beds.
