New technology that sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie claims to be able to finds the perfect mattress for individual sleepers.
The Sleep Scan system by Kaymed has people stand in a booth and then scans them to create a body imaging profile identifying key features - such as spine curvature - that may then inform their choice of mattress, according to Furniture Today.
A questionnaire regarding the sleeper's lifestyle is also completed, allowing the results to be combined with the scan and cross referenced with a database of likely mattress choices within three minutes, its makers claim.
Kaymed's chief executive officer Conor Sheahan told the publication he envisions the product one day being available in malls and airports all over the world.
Those who can't wait for the new technology to catch on may be interested in Tempur's memory foam mattresses, which use body-sculpting materials to adjust to individual sleeper's needs, thereby naturally reducing pressure points.
Classic Bed Company is the UK's premier bed store for ultimate comfort and luxury offering Tempur, Vi Spring, Willis and Gambier and French Sleigh beds.
