The literary genius of Ernest Hemingway has provided the inspiration for a new range of furniture which includes a modern take on the French Sleigh bed.
Contemporary beds with an iconic twist are the speciality of US retailer Thomasville Furniture, which launched its Hemingway collection in 2000 and will soon add a John Wayne range to its ranks, Los Angeles' Daily Breeze reports.
Wayne Enterprise's licensing director Shelly Leyson tells the newspaper: "Given his sustained popularity, we have always thought such a collection would be embraced by American consumers."
Hemingway's collection is reportedly a reflection of his travels and adventures, featuring dark, exotic woods and leather.
It's centrepiece, the Aberdare Club Sleigh Bed is named after the retreat at which Hemingway stayed during his many safari escapades.
Born in Illinois in 1899, Hemingway is one of the US's most celebrated writers, winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954.
Willis and Gambier incorporate exotic woods into their contemporary beds designs, which include several French Sleigh models.
Classic Bed Company is the UK's premier bed store for ultimate comfort and luxury offering Tempur, Vi Spring, Willis and Gambier and French Sleigh beds.
