A new report into the bedding market has revealed that Tempur beds are more popular than ever.
Contemporary beds manufacturer Tempur-Pedic has increased its US market share substantially, to become one of the country's most prevalent brands of speciality mattresses and beds, according to Koncept Analytics' Report on the US Bedding Market.
A statement from the report says: "The retail market is dominated by bedding specialists."
"The specialty (non-innerspring) segment of the bedding market is growing rapidly with increasing demand of specialty mattresses."
Increased demand from baby boomers with large disposable incomes and several bedrooms are cited as a key factor in the growth in popularity of specialist brands, such as Tempur beds.
Sealy, which manufactures traditional inner spring mattresses as well as speciality models, is also listed in the report as being a market leader.
The company recently announced it would making its hotel-exclusive range of beds available for purchase online through 24-hour mattress delivery specialist Mattress Next Day.
