Comfy beds 'most important for hotel guests'
Hotel guests often base their impression of their stay on how comfortable the bed in their room is, a consultant has revealed.
Speaking to Caterer Search, Melvin Gold stated that hoteliers looking at ways to reduce costs should take this information into account.
A recent poll carried out by tickbox.net revealed that three-quarters of travellers were most influenced by the sleeping area of a hotel room, while others based their impressions on the quality of room service, range of toiletries and selection of available in-room movies.
Mr Gold said: "In the current climate its tempting for hoteliers to cut back in many areas, but theyd be making a mistake if they did that with the basics clean, good quality linen, good, in-room entertainment."
Those wanting to ensure their own bed is comfy may want to invest in a Tempur mattress as their memory foam technology moulds to the sleeper's body and can help relieve pressure.
