Tempur says 'night night' to back pain in bed
A Tempur mattress could help those who suffer from back pain when they go to sleep in bed at night, research from the company suggests.
Using an elastic 'quilt' with sensors connected to a computer, the pressure placed on a human body when lying on a bed can be measured.
A Tempur mattress was compared to a high-quality spring product and the results displayed in the form of a colour coded diagram.
It was revealed that there were increased areas of high pressure and discomfort for the person lying on the ordinary spring mattress.
On the Tempur product, the body only experienced low areas of pressure.
In support of this research, an independent customer survey also revealed that 88 per cent of people suffering from sleep problems said that a Tempur mattress or bed improved the quality of their sleep.
