New mattress 'helps get babies off to bed'
A new mattress has been created which helps babies drift off to sleep more quickly when they are put to bed.
Mum-of-six Lynda Harding came up with the idea of a musical rocking mattress after struggling to get her brood to sleep at night, Portsmouth Today reports.
Her invention has now been given the scientific seal of approval after clinical trials at Brighton University revealed that the mattress was effective at getting babies off to bed and may reduce the risk of cot deaths.
The Easidream product is fitted with a machine which produces the noise of a heartbeat combined with the sound of rain, a vacuum cleaner or a harp.
Ms Harding said: "I'm thrilled to bits.
"The fact that Easidream actively encourages parents to follow the correct sleep guidelines has got to be something to shout about."
