Pop star Natasha Bedingfield has revealed that she has demanded that her management work to ensure she gets at least eight hours sleep in a comfy bed every night while on tour.
The 25-year-old singer - whose hits include These Words - said that she realised that getting a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed was vital to the quality of her performances, as well as how she reacts to people.
She told the Sun newspaper: "If I don't have eight hours I'm an absolute nightmare - a wreck.
"This time around I've told everyone that if they only give me four hours sleep a night I'll change into a different person.
"The road is hard. There's less stamina as a woman, which I didn't want to admit to. I want to work as tough as any guy, but I have to pace myself."
Recently, research from Travelodge found that 28.1 million British professionals were getting less than eight hours sleep every night.
