Cherry juice 'can aid sleep'


Cherries can be a tasty and healthy snack fit for use in countless dishes, from ice-cream to jam - and new research claims they could also help people get to sleep.

SheKnows reports that as well as containing antioxidants, cherries also contain melatonin, the hormone produced by the brain that regulates.

It speculates that sharp cherry juice could be the trick to a decent night's sleep when you hit the mattress at the end of the day.

"Eating cherries is always a good choice, particularly in the summer, when they are in season," the website advises.

It recommends frozen cherries when the seasons change, or a sip of cherry juice before bed.
