TV Nanny gives sleeping tips

Nanny Yvonne, a television nanny for the NECN channel, offers parents a range of hints and tips to help them deal with certain issues that arise when bringing up their children.

In the first part of a new series, she has given mums and dads some advice on what to do when children are having problems when going to bed.

She advises that babies sleep in their own room from the beginning to prevent the establishment of bad habits, though baby monitors are recommended for peace of mind.

"White noise is great, it blocks out everything and also room darkening shades," she advises

She adds that parents should make sure they stick to a "bath, book, bed" routine so their child knows the pattern they will go through every night.
