Insomniac 'cured by yoga and a new diet'
One long-term insomniac has explained how she cured her sleeping problems by taking up yoga and changing her diet.
Writing in the Metro, Helia Phoenix said for years she had dreaded going to bed because it meant hours of anxiety while she tried to force herself to fall asleep.
This impacted on her concentration levels at school and her overall health.
However, later in life she made a concerted effort to tackle her problem.
She took up yoga, cut out dairy and refined sugar, reduced her intake of alcohol and made sure she only used her bedroom for sleeping.
Ms Phoenix said it made a big difference to her life.
She stated: "I'm healthy, I have a loving family, a good perspective on life and more energy than ever. What more could I ask for?"
