Migraine sufferers told not to stay in bed for so long
Sleeping too much and staying in bed for a long time can cause attacks for people suffering from migraines, researchers suggest.
It is thought that people who get up earlier are less likely to get migraines compared to those who sleep for more than nine hours, according to the Press Association.
The study was carried out at the Clinic of Neurology at University Hospital in Belgrade.
A survey done by the Migraine Action Association revealed that 61 per cent of people felt that their sleep patterns were related to their migraine attacks.
This announcement also comes at the beginning of Migraine Awareness Week, which was opened by a congress in London yesterday.
The Migraine Trust agrees with the findings. It says it is important for sufferers to get the amount of rest that is right for them. They should also be comfortable and overcome any disturbances to their sleep.
