Actress 'designs bed linen range'

People who have just bought a new bed may be interested to hear the actress Eva Mendes has announced she is to launch a range of sheets and pillowcases.

The new Vida line of bed linen will initially only be available to people in the US where it will hit the shelves in Macy's later this month.

Commenting on the move, Mendes said: "I'm a big interior design fan and architecture buff. That's one of my passions.

"If I wasn't an actress, I'd be an interior designer," she added.

Mendes said family and friends were not surprised by her latest project as she loves to spend time in bed.

She joked if there was an Olympics for sleeping, I'd take gold.

"I'm Cuban, we love to sleep," she quipped.

Mendes has starred in a number of big-budget films, including Once Upon a Time in Mexico with Johnny Depp, Out of Time with Denzel Washington and The Wendell Baker Story with Own Wilson's brother Luke.
