One in five executives 'losing sleep at night'
Many executives say they are no longer getting a good sleep in bed every night because they are worried about finances and the credit crunch, it has emerged.
The Chartered Institute of Management (CIM) conducted a survey of 1,118 senior executives and found that 25 per cent are losing sleep because of the current economic downturn in the UK.
Over half of them said that work had become more stressful and some may be restless because they fear for their jobs as recruitment is being frozen by many companies.
Jo Causon, director of marketing and corporate affairs at the CIM, said it is "vital that the UK's leaders remain composed in the face of growing economic pressure".
According to shuteye.com, employees suffering from lack of sleep are more likely to make errors and have impaired concentration and slower reaction times when at work. There are also increased risks of depression.
