Sealy builds new mattress testing lab
Mattress makers Sealy have built a new laboratory to research ways to reduce pressure points in its sleep sets as it aims to give customers a better night's sleep.
The pressure mapping lab, named the Dr Robert G and Beverly Addison Centre of Excellence, has four workstations using hi-tech systems to identify pressure points which lead people to move around while they are sleeping.
The centre is the only one of its kind in the mattress industry. It also has devices which measure movement and analyse levels of comfort to help people "maximise" every moment they are asleep.
Larry Rodgers, chief executive officer at Sealy said: "The Centre of Excellence will provide new opportunities to further the industry's understanding of how uncomfortable pressure points lead to tossing and turning through extensive testing and research."
For those people who struggle to get a good night's sleep, a Sealy backcare support mattress may help as it has extra layers of high-grade upholstery which give it a 'medium-firm' quality.
