Bedroom temperature 'essential for a good night's sleep'
Many people get too hot when asleep in bed at night and have to turn the pillow over to the 'cool side' to get comfortable, it has been claimed.
According to Chillow, over 100 million people do not sleep well on a regular basis and for 84 per cent of these the problem is something to do with overheating.
As the winter approaches, more homeowners are turning on their central heating which can mean bedrooms get stuffy and warm at night time.
The elderly are especially prone to this problem as their bodies find it harder to dissipate heat, therefore affecting their brain's sleeping and waking cycle.
To help with this problem, the Sleep Council advises that bedrooms should be cool, dark and quiet with bed covers that the sleeper feels comfortable and relaxed lying under.
