Financial worries 'mean lack of sleep' for workers

Financial worries mean many people are not getting enough sleep in bed or on a comfy mattress at night, it has been found.

The ComPsych Corporation has found that nine out of ten workers said they were losing sleep because of the rising cost of living and concerns about credit card debt, CNN reports.

For 14 per cent of those asked, mortgage repayments were the cause of their nightmares and building retirement accounts were a worry for 13 per cent.

The effect that the global economic downturn is having on people's health seems to be growing as only eight per cent of respondents said they slept soundly at night and had no worries about money.
