The slats of the bed are sprung beech, which allow for more comfort than you have felt in other slatted beds. The beech sprung slatted base incorporates strengthened slats that are curved into shape and then sealed.

This allows for a higher level of comfort as the slats now offer effectively the same level of comfort as more expensive upholstered sprung bases. The gap between each slat is designed to be narrower than normal; this allows you to buy a good quality mattress, safe in the knowledge that the sleeping platform will enhance your ultimate comfort level.
