The Tempur Mattress and Body Heat

Some believe that because the Tempur mattress traps in body heat, that the mattress will become too hot. Getting too hot during the night is something that a lot of us hate because it can wake us up and make it very difficult to fall back to sleep. This in itself makes for a loss of sleep, which some believes makes the sleep-promoting effects of the Tempur mattress non-existent if heat becomes an issue. However, the Tempur mattress does not get too hot and there are several reasons why despite the fact it uses body heat in its functioning.

How the Tempur mattress keeps from getting too hot is that the cells within the mattress are open, which makes them breathable. This makes the mattress self ventilating. If by some chance the sleeper feels hotter, it may have something to do with the bedding that is being used. Because the sleeper doesn't move around as much on a Tempur mattress as they do on a traditional mattress, bedding that is too thick can cause the heat to build up. It isn't the mattress itself.

The way to solve the heat issue is to fit the Tempur mattress with a lighter bedding or even using less bedding. If there is a mattress cover on top of your Tempur mattress, then it is a good idea to remove that if less or lighter bedding doesn't cool you off. However, by taking these steps, you can stay cool while sleeping on your Tempur mattress.
