To turn or not to turn your vi-spring, that is the question.

Taking care

By looking after your mattress and taking a little extra care from the moment it is delivered you can make sure you get the support you need for a restful night's sleep for the whole life of your vi-spring mattress.

• Placing a brand new mattress on an old base can often be a false economy. If the base is too hard it can make even the softest mattress feel stiff.
• After removing the packaging from your mattress give it some time to air out before putting on your mattress cover.
• When cleaning your mattress do not use a vacuum cleaner, the best method is to use a soft brush.
• For spills and stains take extra care. Do not soak your mattress with liquid and do not use a hard or abrasive brush, this can damage the fabric and stitching. Softly cleanse the affected area and allow the vi-spring mattress to air dry away from direct heat.
• Try not to stand or jump on your mattress, this can damage the internal mechanism.

Turning

If your vi-spring mattress requires turning it is advisable to do so once every two weeks for the first six months; after that it is advisable to turn once a month. It is important to stick to a routine and make sure the mattress gets an equal amount of pressure on each side and end to end.

Does my vi-spring mattress need turning?

Since April 2004 all vi-spring mattresses produced have optional turning. This essentially means that it is not necessary to turn your mattress. All mattresses produced before April 2004 will require turning; it is recommended you follow the guidelines in the "caring for your bed" booklet.

If you are unsure when your mattress was produced you can check the label, those produced before April 2004 will be marked "Turn Regularly".

It is still recommended that you turn your mattress intermittently even when it is not explicitly stated that you should do so.
