Is there a serious competitor to Vi-spring on the market?

Silentnight

Silentnight is the UK's biggest manufacturer of beds and mattresses, well-known through its advertising campaigns, which introduced the cuddly Duck and Hippo characters to British bed buyers. The company produces a wide range of beds and mattresses, from its own Miracoil system, which uses a continuous spring system, to its Miratex mattresses, which use foam technology to support you whilst you sleep. Silentnight certainly has a good share of the UK bed and mattress market, but it doesn't produce hand-made beds in the same way as Vi-spring and it doesn't concentrate on one style of mattress.

Tempur

Tempur is one of the new brands on the market, and concentrates solely on mattresses that use a special foam construction. Originating in Sweden, and originally developed to help people with back and neck pain, Tempur has extended its research to sleep and now produces a wide range of mattresses, pillows and accessories in the material. The mattress moulds itself to the shape and position of your body, giving you excellent support whilst you sleep, and the company claims that this additional support reduces the number of times you change position during the night, resulting in healthier sleep.

Slumberland

One of the most recognised brand names in the mattress market, Slumberland has been manufacturing and supplying beds to the British market for many years. They use a continuous spring system which makes the mattress responsive to changes in position, and they produce four ranges, which increase in coil count from 700 to 2,400. Slumberland also uses quality filling and padding materials.

All of these manufacturers offer mattresses that are very different to each other, and very different to the Vi-spring product range.
